Wall Drawing 289
My interpretation of Sol LeWitt’s “Wall Drawing 289” (1976)
Over the course of his career, he conceived more than 1,200 wall drawings, in pencil, colored ink, and acrylic. Ultimately painted over, each wall drawing exists as a set of instructions that can be recreated on another wall by any person. Instructions for Drawings 289: 24 lines from the center, 12 lines from the midpoint of each of the sides, and 12 lines from each corner.
Canvas - Original hand painted acrylic graphic on 36”x26”x1.5” gallery wrapped heavy duty canvas (36”x36”x1.5”). Option to frame.
Frame - Unfinished floating oak, ready to hang or finish, with 1/2” face and 3/16” reveal (37.5”x37.5x2.25”).
